Corona-Chronik (2): Überforderung

Eine Woche später. Die anfängliche Euphorie wegen der spontan entstandenen Freiräume und mehr Familienzeit ist (fast) verflogen. Der Homeoffice mit zwei Kindern ist anstrengend. Es geht nur, wenn man in Randzeiten arbeitet: vor 8 Uhr morgens oder nach 8 Uhr abends, wenn die Kinder schlaffen. Oder wenn Mann und Frau abwechselnd arbeiten und Kinder betreuen. Was bedeutet, dass man als ganze Familie praktisch nie zusammen ist.

 

Man geht davon aus, dass bundesweit die Ausgangssperre verhängt wird. Als Erstes hatte Herr Söder sich getraut, die Einschränkungen einzuführen. Tausende Facebook-Zuschauer haben ihm applaudiert, während er das verkündete. Da haben wir ihn, Deutschlands neuen Super-Kanzler, dachte ich mir. Sogar diejenigen, die Söder sonst nicht leiden, finden seine konsequenten Handlungen richtig. Der Wunsch der Menschen nach einer starken Hand in Krisenzeiten ist verständlich.

Coronavirus in Weißrussland

In meiner Heimat Belarus haben wir einen Präsidenten, der seit 26 Jahren mit starker Hand regiert. Endlich gäbe es etwas positives daran, in einem autoritären Staat zu leben. Man könnte die Menschen in ihren Häusern für ein paar Wochen einsperren und so die Verbreitung des bösen Virus eindämmen. Ohne lange Diskussionen darüber, ob das mit der Demokratie und dem Grundrecht auf Bewegungsfreiheit vereinbar ist!

Blöd nur, dass Lukaschenko das Coronavirus für „eine Psychose“ hält. Sein Rezept gegen das Virus: Traktoren (=Arbeit) und Wodka, aber bloß nicht beides gleichzeitig! Alle Länder um Belarus herum haben ihre Grenzen dicht gemacht. (Ich glaube zwar nicht, dass der Virus vor den Grenzen halt macht, aber das ist zumindest ein Zeichen dafür, dass die Lage ernst genommen wird.)

Die kritischen Medien in Belarus verbreiteten die Nachricht, dass eine Frau im Norden des Landes an Coronavirus gestorben sei. Sie beziehen sich auf ihre Verwandten, die das von den Ärzten erfahren haben sollen. Kurz darauf dementiert das Gesundheitsministerium das. Die Frau sei an Pneumonie gestorben, außerdem hatte sie Nebenerkrankungen wie Diabetes und Bluthochdruck. Die kritischen Medien, die die Meldung verbreiteten, werden nun schikaniert. Im staatlichen Fernsehen wird dagegen nicht informiert, sondern beruhigt: So und so viele Corona-Erkrankte sind wieder gesund. Wie viele Menschen in Belarus könnten demnächst an „Pneumonie“, „Grippe“ und anderen Erkrankungen sterben? Das werden wir wohl nicht erfahren.

In Krankenhäusern in kleinen Kreisstädten gib es keine Corona-Tests, geschweige denn genug Beatmungsgeräte. Meine Eltern leben in so einer Kleinstadt. Die Sorgen um die eigenen Verwandten, die Machtlosigkeit vor dem Virus und der Dummheit der Mächtigen sind das, was mich derzeit überfordert und traurig macht. Der Homeoffice mit den Kindern, das kriegen wir schon hin.
