Zurück in die eigene Kindheit

Ein Besuch bei meinen Eltern ist wie eine Reise in die eigene Kindheit. Der Kindergarten, in den ich als Kind gegangen bin, ist immer noch in Betrieb. Doch  seine besten Zeiten sind vorbei. Der Lack an den Turnstangen draußen ist abgeplatzt. Das Geld für neue Spielutensilien fehlt. Not macht erfinderisch. Die alten Plastikflaschen werden zu Palmen und Baumstumpfe zu lustigen Ameisen verarbeitet. Ein Schneemann begrüßt die Kinder direkt hinter dem Eingangstor. Man spürt, dass die Kleinen hier liebevoll empfangen werden, auch wenn die zur Verfügung stehenden Mittel begrenzt sind. Ein Platz im Kindergarten kostet für die Eltern umgerechnet 11 Euro im Monat. Gar nicht so wenig, wenn man bedenkt, dass der Monatslohn in der Regel bei 200 Euro liegt; viele haben keine Arbeit. Die Kita hat von 7:00 bis 17:30 Uhr auf. Drei warme Malzeiten pro Tag sind inklusive. Am Ende des Monats, wenn das Einkommen aufgebraucht ist, sind das für einige Kinder die einzigen Mahlzeiten.

Ich erinnere mich gut daran, wie ich zum ersten Mal in den Kindergarten gebracht wurde. „Hallo! Hier ist Olja“, sagte mein Vater. „Und tschüß!“ Eingewöhnung war damals ein Fremdwort. Ich fühlte mich fremd und hatte Angst vor Unbekanntem.  Später mochte ich den Kindergarten – vor allem dank der liebevollen Erzieherin. Am liebsten spielten wir mit dem Kaufladen, in dem man alles kaufen konnte. Ganz anders als in der Realität. Kurz vor dem Zusammenbruch der UdSSR bekam jede Familie Lebensmittelmarken für alles Mögliche: Zucker, Butter, Tee und Kaffee. Nur einlösen konnte man sie kaum; die Regale in den Läden waren leer.

Wir wohnten in einem Wohnheim. Das Haus mit fünf Stockwerken war eine Institution in unserem Viertel. Dort wohnten Familien der Mitarbeiter des gegenüber liegenden Agrartechnik-Betriebs. Im Erdgeschoss des Heims gab es einen Raum für gemeinsame Feste und im ersten Stock eine Bibliothek. Im zweiten Stock befand sich eine Videothek und im dritten Stock ein Spielzimmer, das dauerhaft geschlossen war.

So wurde der Flur zu unserer geliebten Spielfläche. Am Abend, wenn die Hausarbeiten erledigt waren und lateinamerikanische Serien im TV liefen, klopfte es an der Tür: „Kommst du in den Flur?“ Am liebsten spielten wir „Werbung“. Ein Kind sollte ein TV-Werbespot ohne Worte zeigen und die anderen sollten raten, welcher Spot gemeint war. Zum Beispiel Tante Asja aus einer Waschmittel-Werbung oder die gut gelaunten Bewohner von den spanischen Dörfern, die um die Wette Abwasch machten. Mitte der 90er waren die Zeiten von Mangelware vorbei. Die Läden waren voll mit ausländischen Produkten. Es fehlte nur das Geld, um sie zu kaufen.

Später zogen meine Eltern in ein Haus in der Nähe ein, das sie selbst Stein für Stein gebaut haben. Die meisten Baumaterialen wurden gegen etwas eingetauscht oder an irgendeiner stillgelegten Baustellen besorgt. Als Bauhelfer wurden Freunde und Verwandte engagiert, denn richtige Handwerker konnten sie nicht bezahlen. So wie unser Haus wurde auch unser junger Staat immer vollständiger. Nach den turbulenten Jahren kehrte die von den Bürgern lang ersehnte Ruhe ein. Im Fernsehen nennt man sie „Stabilität“. In den häuslichen Küchen, hinter den verschlossenen Türen, spricht man von „Stagnation“.

Die Fassade unseres weißen Wohnheims wurde orange und rosa gestrichen. Ein Pförtner wurde eingestellt, der den Eingang überwacht. Also bleibt für mich das, was sich hinter dieser bunten Fassade abspielt, verschlossen.
