Integration geht durch den Magen… und den Verein

Man nehme 50 Eier, 5 Kilo Mehl, 15 Löffel Zucker, 12 Teelöffel Salz, 8 Liter Wasser, Öl bitte vorsichtig nach Gefühl gießen… Fertig ist der Teig für etwa 100 Crêpes! 🥞 Die dünnen Pfannkuchen verkaufen wir auf einem lokalen Sommerfest – eine Mischung aus Festival, Jahrmarkt und Stadtbezirkstreff.

„Wir“ – das sind ein Nachtbusfahrer aus Aserbaidschan, eine Dolmetscherin aus Russland, eine Chemielaborantin aus China, ein ITler aus dem Ruhrpott und ein Lehrer aus Norddeutschland. Was uns vereint, sind unsere Kinder, die zusammen in den Kindergarten gehen. Ein ganz „normaler“ evangelischer Kindergarten in Bonn: 65 Kinder mit Wurzeln aus ca. 20 Nationen. Darunter sind Protestanten, Katholiken, Orthodoxe, Muslime, Buddhisten, Hindus und vieles mehr.

Mit dem Crêpes- und Kuchenverkauf verdienen wir Geld für den Kita-Förderverein, der neue Spielgeräte, Bastelmaterialien oder Feste im Kindergarten finanziert.

Ehrenamt in Deutschland und Belarus

Noch während meines Studiums im Ruhrgebiet lernte ich die deutsche Liebe zum Vereinsleben kennen. Die Deutschen lieben es, sich um eine Sache herum zu organisieren: Sei es eine Sportart, ein Brauch, ein Hobby oder eine Mission. Das gesellschaftliche Engagement ist allgegenwärtig. Während im Russischen nicht mal einen passenden Begriff dazu gibt.

In Belarus haben wir andere Lebensweissheiten: „Meine Hütte steht am Rande, ich weiß von nix!“,  „Je weniger man weiß, desto besser schläft man“, „Sei leiser als Wasser, niedriger als Gras!“ Mein Lieblingsspruch aus den Sowjetzeiten ist: „Die Initiative ist strafbar!“ Was so viel heißt wie: Lehn dich nicht zu weit aus dem Fenster raus. Im besten Fall musst du deine Idee selber verwirklichen. Im schlimmsten Fall landest du dafür im Gulag.

Zu den Perestrojka-Zeiten kam hinzu, dass viele angebliche „Helfer“ und „Mäzene“ einfach nur Scharlatane waren. Kein Wunder, dass die postsowjetischen Menschen oft mit Skepsis auf das freiwillige Engagement blicken: Wozu möchte denn jemand anderen freiwillig helfen? Was bekommt er dafür? Wo ist der Haken? *

Integriert dank Kind

Auch ich als Postsowjetmensch trage so ein Skepsis-Gen in mir.  Als Studentin hielt ich mich den organisierten Helfer-Aktivitäten lieber fern. Doch mit den Kindern veränderte sich das. Mein Mann und ich sind nun im Kita-Förderverein aktiv. Wahrscheinlich wären wir nicht auf die Idee gekommen, es zu machen, wenn man uns nicht direkt darauf angesprochen hätte. Aber: Der Mensch wächst mit seinen Aufgaben. Das habe ich auch in Deutschland gelernt. 💪

* Natürlich verändert sich das. Inzwischen ist eine neue Generation von Belarussen und Russen herangewachsen, die Charity-Shops eröffnet, Mülltrennung privat organisiert und die aus dem Winterschlaf erwachten Fledermäuse rettet.
